This is a clip from the "Hiphop for the society" show which was organised by 'Breakdance project Uganda', a local project which uses breakdance & other elements of hiphop for positive social change.
This dance piece was a choreography by Jessica Dexter (www.jessdexter.com), a hiphop from Voncouver,Canada who volunteered with this project to teach free hiphop dance class in different communities of Uganda such as Gulu, Kampala, Gganda etc...
Her dance piece really symbolised positive social change because it involved both the advantaged & disadvantaged dancers working together.
This choreography had Jessica Dexter herself (white shirt), orphans from kinship orphanage, university students, primary & secondary school students, ghetto youth plus may other kinds of people.
This show was held on 6th may 2007 at Sharing Youth Centre, Nsambya and it's aims were to show the posive roles of hiphop in the Ugandan communities & to Ecourage the youth & children to get involved in community work.
The show also featured a number of Ugandan conscious hiphop artistes such as 'Sylvester & Abramz, swamp kamp, DE.P.P.I & L.G.
