Lexi's POV:
Great a new place. Again! My moms stupid boyfriend made us move again. I was just fine where we were. All my mom cares about is her boyfriend. They're both alcholics with no jobs. Maybe that's why we keep getting evicted. And maybe that's why i don't make friends, because i'm afraid of losing them soon afterward. All I want to do is run away. I began packing my suitcase and opended my window. I climbed out to the side of the house and ran as fast as I could. I ended up in an empty park. It was already 9 o'clock at night i wasn't even supposed to be in here.

Jacob's POV:
I just finished listening to our new song Girls Talkin' Bout. It's good, but i just wish that prodigy din't get all the attention all the time. I mean there are three other people in the group. Anyway I suddenly got hungry so i ran down stairs to get something to eat in the kitchen. As soon as i got downstairs i heard my mom screaming and My dad yelling at her to shut up. He was beating her again. I could tell by all the banging and the sounds of glass breaking. I can't take this anymore. I'm 17 and I'm tired of seeing the same thing everyday. I ran out of the house down the street to the empty park. I sat on a bench across from a girl who looked about my age, maybe a year or to younger. She was beautiful from what I saw, but she had her head down.

Lexi's POV:
I can't help but cry. I know I'm probably emabaressing myself infront of the cute boy sitting across from me. I can tell that he is staring at me. I lifted my head slowly with tears flowing down my cheeks non-stop.

Jacob's POV:
I saw the tears streamin g down her face and i don't what what it is but i have the urge to just comfort her and hold her in my arms. Imade my way over and put my hand on her back. It was awkward because i didn't really know her but i was willing to do anything to help her.

Jacob- Um are you okay?
Lexi- Does it look like I'm okay?!
Jacob- Sorry geez i'm just trying to help. *gets up about to walk away.
Lexi- *Grabs his wrist* Wait! I'm sorry I'm being a brat because I'm stressed out.
Jacob- *Sits back down* It's okay. Don't worry about it.

Jacob's POV:
I knew exactly how she felt. She was stressed. Probably scared and cold. And she didn't feel like talking to anyone. But it was the only way that I could help her.

Lexi's POV:
He was being so nice to me. And i'm acting like a brat. I hope he knows how I feel. I don't want to scare him away. He's the only person who actually cares enough right now.

Jacob- What's your name?
Lexi- My name's Alexis but everyone calls me Lexi.
Jacob- Well Lexi I'm Jacob, and are you ready to tell me what's wrong?
Lexi- *sniffles* Well it's my life. Everything is wrong. My mom doesn't care about me and I have nobody who loves me.
Jacob- I'm sure that's not true. *rubs her back*
Lexi- It is true. All my mom cares about is alchohol and her stupid selfish boyfriend. All he does is take andvantage of her and use her. But she doesn't have enough repect for herself to leave him.
Jacob- *Sighs* I know exactly how you feel. My mother get's beat by my father everyday. But she doesn't care. Everyday i try to help her, i try to help gain to confidence and respect for herself. But she's too scared to call the cops.
Lexi- Wow.. someone who actually understands me.

Wow I couldn't believe it. I actually made a connection with somebody who really does understand me, and not someone who just says that they do.

Jacob's POV:
She actually understands my situation. Maybe I have more in common with someon who I just met than someone that I've known for my whole life. I already know more about her life than I know about Prod's or Ray Ray's or even Roc's.
