Dubbed "Catholics vs. Convicts". The Irish, got negative attention from that statement, it was a very anti-Christan (where was that Love Jesus was always talking about?) Then the Irish went on to start a pre-game fight. Then, The Hurricanes and Fighting Irish played close all game, but a questionable funmble call kept Miami from winning this game, a great game played by both teams.

  • LOL, Randy Shannon was a starter on this team! And then he would end up getting fired while the HC at The U.

  • @TheAntihero6212

Thank God for Al Golden :D

Randy Shannon was actually one of the best DC for The U and in fact, almost got the job at Texas..

I bet Texas regrets not hiring him -_-

  • It's kind of funny that Pat Haden brought up the Catholic quarterbacks that didn't go to Notre Dame because he's also a member of that group.

  • Miami should of won

  • Awesome video quality! But, poor, sad excuse for Miami losing.

  • Plus the ball carrier bobbled the ball a bit, so he didn't even have full possession anyway. He was losing grasp of the ball. When that happens, before your body is down, that's what's known as a FUMBLE!!!! It was the right call. Both pat Haden and Brent musberger agreed it was the right call, after looking at the replay on a couple of occasions. ND was the better team that day. They won fair and square.

  • Canes fans can be miffed about the fumble call if they want to, but clearly it was a fumble. The ball carrier lost control of the ball JUST, and I emphasize just, before his body hit the ground. It was close. Anyway, Miami ended up scoring a TD later anyway. Notre Dame didn't make Jimmy johnson go for the 2 point conversion. Not our fault he was a bit greedy. You had a chance to tie it up but you chose to risk it. You rolled snake eyes. The end.

  • Ah, the good ol' days of football where the kicker would say the Hail Mary BEFORE the opening kickoff. Awesome.

  • This was THE GAME where Notre Dame came out of the shits and became THE SHIT in College Football.

  • @FRSFreeStateNow Yeah, until the fans (and to a certain extent, Jimmy Johnson) ruined it and forced it to be stopped. ;-(

  • This used to be a great rivalry
