Yngwie freely admits Uli is a major influence..

malmsteen!

Malmsteen ripped this guy too.SMH Either Uli or Ritchie Blackmore invented neo-classical.

@haropro2 heheheh 27 octave range, this one made me laugh :) yes, it's the 7 string guitar, 8 octave range (yes, it could easily be the most powerful single-necked guitar ever - when it comes to range) and it definitely does have a unique sound - warmer than his Strat, it can soar, weep, dance, laugh, be wrathful, angry, can shapeshift from a country-styled guitar (Rodeo from Hell) to a dramatic life-ender (Transfiguration), both examples are in the same musical piece, Metamorphosis Concerto :)

@kklmjk Not only Uli puts Yngwie to shame, but Yngwie has still got a lot of homework to do if he's to emulate Uli's work. Yngwie himself said that Uli Roth has been his main playing influence (Blackmore was his stage appearance model), but while Uli did constantly change and evolve since his years with the Scorpions, Yngwie (imo) sounds like Uli's 'Sails of Charon' on steroids and sped-up over and over.... :)

27 octave range? I seriously doubt it
-
@ozzmaniac More importantly... 27 octaves?!
-
@BierGier I wouldn't listen to Haropro2 when it comes to specs. It has 32 frets, after the 27th it goes in whole tone steps. The humbuckers are actually quadruple coils smushed together in a passive humbucker size (one in the neck below the fret board and in the bridge). It has an 8 octave range if you buy the 7 string version. It's about $10000 by Dean and only a handful are being made.

@haropro2 42 frets??
