Thanks man! I need to re render the cg in layers so I can project the shadow onto the iPhone that's underneath the flat plane haha but thanks ;) FYI don't EVER use Maya live use syntheyes or similar I spent hours where syntheyes would only take minutes doing this simple project. I haven't tried mayas new matchmover yet though sooo it might have improved over LIVE.

Thanks alot man! I like 3ds max as well but my school prefers maya although I don't think they teach the extra stuff that comes with it like LIVE for motion tracking so you probably won't et it either way. One of those things you have to buckle down and learn yourself. Probably for you to do the same thing in max you'll have to motion track in NUKE or Shake or something else and bring in those tracked points. I donno if max has a motion tracking feature.

How'd you do that? I mean, how did you render it into the video

A process called compositing. I motion tracked 4 pennies in Maya LIVE and then after I found their position I created a flat plain and then put a few 3d shapes within the 3D space. After that I lit the objects based on the lighting in the room to get accurate shading and shadowing.
