I 100% agree, and that is actually why I am opposed to theocracy. Leaders in a theocracy are just as vulnerable to corruption as leaders in any other government, and it gives them the opportunity to abuse religion. By changing the word of God, these theocratic leaders can not only justify their own horrible deeds, but also mislead (and even brainwash) innocent religious civilians. The Holy Crusades are a great example of this.

@catholicgamer99 Makes me wonder if the translation we have is as infallible as people think. I don't think any god would really do such things. So many people have used the Bible as an excuse to be do horrible things (Holocaust, the destruction of the Aztecs and Incans) and I think it's just that, an excuse. How many things in the Bible were simply improvised by the religious and political leaders in order to give them more power over the people, I wonder.

@Chibikan Me too, whenever I read about God's punishment toward evil people in the Old Testament, I feel uncomfortable because their family members often share the punishment. I always think, "Is this really necessary?"
The Old Testament, in general, makeas me wonder, "What is the message behind this? (Other than obeying God, of course)."
See, that's the odd thing about the Bible. The New Testament portrays God very differentlly from the Old Testament.

@catholicgamer99 I wonder that too. I know He's God and it's not my place to question but I can't help wondering if there could've been a better way than ultimately taking the lives of all those innocent children who had done nothing. I hate the idea of punishing the child for the sins of the parent. I believe that punishment should be placed upon those who deserve it not the innocent bystanders.

Good song such a big message! In a world where everyone is what is in it for me, few think how can I benefit others. To me that is the message of that song. It is the message of Christianitity. If we have not done any good in the world today and helped anyone in need then we have failed indeed.

Why all the arguing? Is that the purpose of this video? I thought the purpose was to 1. enjoy the song by listening to it, or 2. sing-a-long with it.
