A male brambling takes sunflower hearts from the feeder in my back yard. Large flocks of this scandinavian finch have appeared in Hampshire this winter and in recent days at least 26 have been feeding in my yard (the previous maximum was 4!). They almost entirely feed on the ground under the feeders so this bird was a bonus.
Also present in the video is a Eurasian Siskin (see separate video). (March 2008). Recorded in West Weloow, Hampshire.

  • There are a male and a female Eurasian Siskin (Carduelis spinis) but no Serin (Serinus serinus).
