Like many of you, we were dismayed and disgusted by the latest round of CPC attack ads. In our society, we teach our children that bullying and name-calling and lying is wrong, but the Prime Minister and his party somehow think that using such tactics is justified. We want our leaders to think of what's best for the country, for the people who need jobs and infrastructure and a clean environment and funding for the arts and for science, leaders who will stand up for human rights, for women's rights, here in Canada and around the world.

All the people who are named in this video either worked (or work) outside of Canada, went to school abroad, or lived elsewhere before adopting Canada as their home (& we're sure you can think of many more). Their citizenship and eligibility for public service are as good as any other Canadian's. Travel is said to broaden the mind, and in this age of the global village, such experience is all the more valuable.

Thanks go out to Mozart, Symphony Nova Scotia and Jamie Sommerville for the tune.

  • intresting

  • He willingly left Canada. Immigrants are leaving their impoverished lives for a new future. Global perspective? He's been heard stating he is American.

  • They would have a chance of winning if we had a modern voting system like New Zealand or some European countries.

    Mixed Member Proportional Representation

  • Vote Conservative.

  • Sadly, attack ads do work.

The just visiting ads drive me nuts though. Every time i see one (and it's every ten minutes when i have the tv on), I keep thinking about how immigrants must feel. If they think Ignatieff is less Canadian because he spent years abroad as an academic, then they must think immigrants are less Canadian too. no idea if i will support Ignatieff or not, but i won't be swayed AGAINST him because he's got a global perspective. Good for him, maybe for us.

  • because the libs have never used attack ads. they were all virgin born, too.

wake up. attack ads, as sad as they are, are done by every party. if you want to vote for a party that doesn't use them, you'll have to vote for one of the minor parties that has no chance of winning anything.

  • Ignatieff is a "Dead Beat Dad"! Just check out our video for the proof. Canadian media are just ignoring it; have you ever heard 1 word about his kids or what kind of a parent he has been? Nope, that's not for the voters to know about. But we have it here on youtube, whether the media likes it or not.

  • GO GET 'EM! After these disgusting tactics from the Harper Tories, I hope Ignatieff, Layton, and yes, even Duceppe, are all together on this! GIVE THE CONSERVATIVES THE ELECTION THEY WANT, BUT NOT THEIR DESIRED RESULT!!!

  • Either Iggy is 100% delusional or he thinks the Canadian public are simpletons, take your pick. Imagine if you took a 1 year teaching contract at a university in Japan; would you immediately start giving lectures where you said "We Japanese" over and over and over again? Would you be declaring your love for and allegiance to the Japanese constitution?

These 2 things are EXACTLY what he did in the USA. Either he is 100% delusional or he thinks Canadians are simpletons, take your pick.

  • PATHOLOGICAL "WE AMERICANS" LIEING IS THE ISSUE, more than his 34 years away. That kind of repititious publicly stated lies (hundreds of times) is a classic symptom of psychopathy. Either he is 100% delusional or he thinks the public are complete idiots, take your pick. But don't expect our media to even notice the pathological lieing as being important, they are asleep at the switch now just as they were with Mulroney's escapades.

I'm going to be on a contract in France, "We French like wine."
