Grammy Award winner polka-meister Jimmy Sturr leads his band, 5/10/08 at the "Mrs T's (as in terrible) Pierogi"-sponsored "Pierogy Fest" in West Springfield, MA.
I came across Sturr on RFD-TV while surfing TV channels as my computer was being repaired. As I watched his show, I was like, "He leads a reasonably-sized orchestra - is he anyway influenced by the late, great Lawrence Welk, who I watched ages ago." After recent research on the web, I found out that the answer is a resounding yes. That guy grew up watching the show, which contained Myron Floren, who died over 3 years ago. IMHO, that guy is just as jolly great as him!!!
