While working on the story and look of WOODY, I collected a whole heap of images and footage that inspired me. From this material I edited together a mood reel of sorts over 5 TVs. I then took the edit and exported each tv at 25 frames per second - printing and cutting out over 5000 squares of paper to then animate the content by hand. This was a test for one of the methods we are using in the film - but it ended up taking three days to print and cut out the paper, and then two days to shoot. I had just bought the new Gotye album, so at least I had sweet new tunes to listen to.
