http://www.delonixradar.com.au/radar_detectors/tests/2009-spectre4-rdd-test.php The Spectre IV+ was set to maximum sensitivity, and the Beltronics RX65e (Euro) was mounted high on the windscreen (next to the rear view mirror). The RX65e was detected around 407m away from the Spectre.

  • I have not been able to have this answered yet so maybe you can help. Since the Bel will also alert when it picks up a RDD, who will pick up the other first? in other words how close will the Bel alert the driver to a RDD being used? will it be too later for the driver?

  • @chevyhighrider If you are referring to the Bel RX65 / RX65e then the Spectre will get you every time. There is no "spectre alert' by this model radar detector.

The only way I can get the Bel RX65 (or most detectors for that matter) is to point the radar detector's antenna directly at the Spectre RDD. If you are within a few meters, then the RD will alert - obviously no good for trying to detect the spectre "first"
