BEST OF... PLAYING THE CITY

How does the public participate in political debate? What makes up public opinion? What is meant by public space? The significance of the social plays a central role in the discourse of art. Terms such as participation, collaboration, social turn, or community-based art have noticeably influenced both the production and reception of art in recent years. The exhibition project Playing the City is an attempt to open up public space as a collective, free, and configurable space. Roughly twenty international artists turned downtown Frankfurt into a site of numerous activities and situations, ranging from performances to guerrilla actions. Watch the best scenes!
