Solid Gold Dancer Spotlight: Cooley Jackson

'Cooley' Jackson. Danced on Solid Gold for about 3 seasons. Replacing Alex Cole, 'Cooley' brought the street/break dancing element to Solid Gold. Anita Mann wanted to bring that popular trend to the show and who better than the man who taught Michael Jackson his famous "moonwalk". 'Cooley' had no formal training when he started on Solid Gold. 'Cooley' started on Solid Gold at the very beginning of the 4th season and left at the end of season 6 (as did most of the of the other dancers).

Solid Gold was THAT show that celebrated diversity. It was always cool watching Cooley pop and lock to the hits week after week. I think with Solid Gold incorporating this element into their lineup of talent, help showcase street dancing as an art form. I always admired how Cooley was able to adapt to the jazz style of dancing while maintaining his own signature style at the time. Thanks for sharing these memories. This was put together very well!

While not one of my favorite dancers, he must've had something going on to be the 2nd longest tenured dancer on the show.

Yeah, Cooley reminds me so much of a young Michael Jackson:great moves, and I love his breakdancing and flips in the air.- a gymnast and dancer in one body, very talented! Thanx for posting these new videos, they bring back a lot of gr8 memories!! (-:

I was just thinking about this dancer after watching Breakin but could not figure what his name was so went through several dancers from movie till his board stated him being on Solid Gold. Then I knew I found the right dancer
