simple but effective vid thanks man

Great video, alot of dumbass riders think they don't need to wear motorcycle boots, they don't realize if they crash they can break their legs and really damage their foot. They may not recover and walk with a limp for the rest of their lives.

Good video. Clear, concise and to the point. Also 100% accurate information, which is always the best.

@harrisisangry I have a pair of the A* Ridge WP Boots and they're fairly cheap. Looking back I should have spent a little more as velcro becomes a nuisance with age. As far as daily life, I wear them all the time as they look normal with jeans, when I'm out and about. My work shoes, I leave at work. Although they were pricey, the boots did save my ankle in crash. Unfortunately, I can't say the rest of my leg fared very well. Gear doesn't protect against broken bones, just the length of grief :\.

Cool. I was wondering if I should use my combat boots on the track. This clears it up

i know a lot of friends who ride motorcycles in runners ... but for safety they ride in hi-top basketball runners

I have the exact same combat boot... but I do wear bike boots ;)

@DarkNinja75 . I ride a 2003 ZR-7S Kawasaki. My boot of choice is an older model Alpinestar Hi-Point Victory boot (yeah, I know, made for motocross). These are all leather construction except for the metal shin plates. They are taller than the normal "superbike" boots and offer padding and protection to just below my knee. They are also fairly stiff, so they offer some ankle protection yet comfortable enough that I wear them during my work day and longer. Comfortable as my Vans skate shoes.

You forgot to mention regular boots don't squeak and creak really loud!
just a question good sir, how do you go about daily life with the proper boot on? do you carry another pair?

@harrisisangry I cheat. In my daily life I wear motorcycle half-boots that just go over the ankle. Definitely less protective than the ones shown in this video. I primarily use the ones in the video if I'm riding all day (like on a trip), riding aggressive (like on back roads), or doing a track day.

@DarkNinja75 ah fair enough, do you happen to have a link to yours? or even better a youtube vid on it? I'll be riding into uni for the next 3 years and maybe do a bit of touring.. so all types of boots are still open options. thx in advance!

My problem though is I ride everywhere everyday, and I just can't be walking around 24x7 in a boot that feels like walking around in a ski boot, so I compromise and go w/ a regular combat boot.
I have been looking into something that has the look of a regular shoe and sacrifices a little for comfort while still being more purpose built.

Look into Alpinestars SMX-2 or Sidi Streetburner. I have the SMX-2 and can wear it at work where I stand for 8 hours a day.
