@joshguy64 but the landing gear retracts

yep that particular variant would be the F4U-4c which did see action during late WWII and was not only equipped with 4 Hispano 20MM cannons but also a new version of Water Alcohol injection which boosted horsepower too 2,450... for five minutes boosting its top speed too 446MPH, very good fighter.
i have built two of the Revell Monogram 1/48th scale F4U-4c Corsairs... later variants of the F4U-5 where used during the Korean war. the corsair is my favorite carrier based fighter!

nice

@lote1234567891011 same here

Because in low visibility the yellow can still be seen, which keeps you from walking into a prop on a crowded carrier deck. Without the tip color a spinning propellor is invisible.

i built one just like this one ! had a bit of struggle with the cockpit though, but overall it was fun to built

well in ww2 it had updated armorment to the 4 20mm cannons for better pennitration like for litely armored vehicles & buildings & ships & bunkers & cap like that even the 50s culd inhialate almost enything but both guns culd take out a tank cuz the armor was a lot thinner on top

i thought it was 3 50 cal in each wing or is that just the F4u Corsair

This is a model of a Korean War-era F4U-4 Corsair. Which means at that time, the .50 cal machine guns had been replaced by the 20mm cannon

why no landing gear?

I didnt feel like putting the landing gear on. I think it looks nicer without it because if I had put it on, then later on if I accidentally drop the model, then the landing gear would snap off.
