http://www.horsedrawnpromotions.com/ We broke this mare to single - she has now gone home to have the winter off and will return to us in the spring for a refresher course. This mare was the last horse dealt by the late Mr Fred Walker, so her owners named her Walkermare.

Barry, I love watching your videos.....always have been afraid of hieghts myself and am amazed how the horses take the bridges so well...if I was near you I would have you train me me not to fear them! Thanks for the wonderful information.

Lots of noisy traffic over there too...
The best thing is to get them untouched, isn't it?

@hackneysaregreat Ideally yes; for us anyway! We find we can progress quicker with our training if we have a "blank canvas" to start with. We prefer to do our own groundwork because that is crucial when it comes to actually putting the horse in the carriage. Even if a horse has been badly handled as a youngster, e.g just having a headcollar on the first time, that can impact their temperament and develop into an issue later on; so for us the breaking process begins long before we put harness on.

cracking little mare,i do like to see a nice cob going steady about its job, wonderfull, how old is the mare?and had it had anything done before you started her?
lisspen123 5 months ago
@lisspen123 Thanks for your comment - this mare is 4 years old and was completely untouched before we had her - she had never even had a headcollar on. She was travelled loose in a trailer to us. She was with us for 6 weeks and this film was taken during her final week with us.
