i agree. i dont really have strong feelings either way. keeping someone in jail for life like charles manson or something is a cost to everyone else cuz they are paying for a guy who murdered other ppl.
but i also dont like the fact that the state feels they own death and can murder in the name of law

Anyone who agrees with capital punishment, consider this:
I come home to find my wife dead, her killer is fleeing. With seconds to act, I grab my gun and shoot. I will go to prison, though "mitigating factors" may bring the charge down to manslaughter and a 10-15 year bid. But an unconcerned party who never met me, my wife, OR the defendant can strap him to a gurney and inject poison in him (even if I object) and it's legitimate. This sends the message that we are all owned by state.

@nomansfriend I totally agree with your comment. The way I see it though, the whole penitentiary system is a punitive one that seeks some sick form of retribution against so called criminals. The question of the role of penitentiaries (capital punishment along with them) is hardly addressed, which is a shame. Are people that are sent to prison meant to "learn" something? Become rehabilitated in order to live back in society? Or merely punished and given as hard a time as possible?

@CAPSLOCKBRO I agree for the most part but capital punishment is more than revenge. What do you do with someone like say Hitler? Very big threat to society, many people would give their lives for, would most likely try to escape. Why not just put a bullet in the head and call it a day?

Capital punishment isnt to teach you something itsd to punish you. I do disagree with it though.
