@mkbarrmovies so worthy a son of his father, not least of all in being so essentially different, truly individual, like bob dylan and jakob couldn't be more different, fortunately T. Shah will, deo volente, have a great output in quantity as already in quality.
@ecmse9145701 Herriot was one awesome vet and philosopher-as-novelist. i just started reading him because i was fond of a lady vet back in the 80s, that didn't even lead to friendship, yet it was worth it to get into JH's books
@jacyok the natural way to convey tradition is through family because tradition must be both ordinary and significant, and as it continues the secret of tradition develops in expression, different ways of expression in each heir, each exponent of tradition, and all this reflected in free and open society maintaining tradition and maintained by it
@jacyok i'm no authority, yet i do think i too am right in being impressed. i'm checking amazon, and i like profundity being one with something as aesthetically appealing and entertaining and accurately observed as travel writing. double use of a genre without it being less of the genre.
@tusculania it's awesome to see demonstrated here the problem of being almost hesitant, a humility to offer one's gift of friendship and its favor: am i worthy?
@tusculania i've got to read from this sage, so young, as i did from his father before and still do. i don't believe in name magic, but sons are often named for qualities and exemplars meant to be adapted, and there is a purity, an economy to the thought that gets straight and convincingly to the point, like math
my first formal arabic was a study interrupted by a long medical hospitalization for very bad gout and has been put off till a year or so. isn't it wild how arabic the maghrebi milieu is, and yet how unique, some would say atypical the dialect is? by no means any less arabic at all
