IN THIS VERSION I CAN UNDERSTAND EVERY LYRIC BECAUSE IT IS SUNG CLEARLY !!!!!! It is a great tune in both Lovin' Spoonful and Homer and Jethro Versions !!!!!

The Trombone is probably Boots Randolph.
He played trombone on lot's of stuff in Nashville.
(As much trombone stuff there was in Nashville.... not much.)

Ah pick it... I mean blow it! I'm 49 and I remember when my family had this one in our record collection. We lost a lot of good records including Homer and Jethro records in a fire in 1978. Thanks for posting. If you ever come across their version of 16 tons I;d love to hear it
