@pikiangel yeah its my favourite part too, it's the first honest kiss between Xena and Ares without there being an agenda behind it, know what i mean?it just melted my heart i really saw that there could be potential to forgive and forget between them, alas that was not to be:(

Ares always had a thing for Xena, she was it for him. Yeah he propositioned Gabrielle but that was kinda to get to Xena in a way, even though he did see her potential. As is stated later, the only thing Ares and Gabrielle agree on is Xena. He was using Eve (Livia) like he used Mavican. As the God of War, great warriors always got his attention. He wanted to mold Livia to be the greatest conqueror (since Xena) and do so in his name. Having them as lovers was a bonus; he was a Greek God after all
