@nagmashdriver I thought that was the m16, and the uzi was made in Isreal as the perfect cover fire weapon to engage small arab militias. It later grew in usage as it proved effective. It seems to be a favorite biker weapon, that and the skorpion. I wonder how a Isreali made weapon became so prevalent among street gangs. Who did all these gangs and drug cartels buy them from? I bet their kids had a huge bar mitzvah.

The Uzi is "famous" because it was developed by the good guys to fight the bad guys who use the AK-47, which is therefore "infamous". Get it? Moral Relativism is killing Western Culture.

Like it or not the UZI is truly a peoples gun like the AK has become.

So I several years ago the successor company to IMI which is called IWI canceled production of the original full size UZI SMG just carrying the mini and mico versions of that line . True . Though now because of high worldwide demand That companies website now states that they are once again selling the original UZI but not new but UZI SMG (Refurbished). Check it out - yes the UZI is old now and many other guns are more accurate but much much more expensive - overcomplicated and not as numerous.

how is it obsolete? it may be old, but fires the same round as many modern smgs and i know i don't want to be on the receiving end of one. If the uzi is obsolete than so its the 1911 pistol and m16 rifle.

@mordechai88 It is so in the judgement of modern military thinkers, however it is still manufactured in the Croatia in a factory sold to them by the Israelis.
