Stopped for Open Carry in Eugene Oregon

I don't often go downtown, but I always open carry, just to be clear.

Oregon is an Open carry state but a few cities have laws that require a CHL to carry. Eugene is not one of those cities. Since I was not breaking any law with open carry then the police had no probable cause to force identification.

why would you need to open carry in the first place, it would make people nervous because they know nothing about you. Im all for a firearm in the home, especially people who live on farms. anyone In Australia can own a firearm as long as they have no criminal history or mental issues but its a huge long drawn out process of checks and references.

@MrJohnDevour Next time you should tell them ignorance to the law (the people who call the police on you and would be put into panic.) is not your fault. That is such a cop out, the real reason is because the cop no longer feels untouchable because someone else can carry a weapon openly.

@fivefoflow no because that just says things about your gun laws. in your country anyone can own a weapon, fuck, you can buy one from wallmart. American logic say i need a gun to protect myself from others with guns its a cycle. look at how many firearm offenses (killings, woundings, random shootings) you have there and tell me there isnt a problem

I really enjoyed this video. 1. Because the civilian clearly knew his states gun laws. Most people don't and brazenly push police officiers to try and prove a point. 2. The cops did what I would expect from them. Verify the gun holder wasn't a threat and let him go about his day. Both did a great job representating.
