However, as we see the "real" word ultimately has the same limitations. The movie is wonderfully subtle and complex in expressing the message and reminds me of Frost's The Road Not Taken. It's an emotionally smart movie that it's a rarity in this day and age (or any for that matter) and I can't recommend it enough.
A++ for this movie. No movie before has covered the joys and shortcomings of rootlessness like this movie. It's a complicated and smart movie and George Clooney brilliantly portrays a man of deep and subtlety pained humanity, but who isn't a softhearted misfit that in the end only longs to fit in or some other formulaic character motivation. At some level the world he has created for himself is one devoid of meaningful human interaction, a true connections of souls. cont
Very, very good film. The only problem I had was the ending. George Clooney's character's didn't have the right send off I think. It was pretty depressing but a definite eye opener.
@ejdf870 did you not watch the movie? At the end of the movie, and after everything that he went through we see that, that's really not who he is at all
@PLMQAZED you're obviously on crack. Just because it doesn't have explosions and Pocahontas with smurfs (aka as Avatar) which is all that the brainwashed, lazy, mindless, human beings like any more. Not many people look at things like acting (which was superb) and screenwriting (which should have won the oscar).
this is a great film IMO
