This is a story I put together on the day of South Dakota Governor Mike Rounds' 2010 budget address. Rounds said that the state will not be able to extend state funding for SCHIP as planned. I wanted to find out what that might mean for those who are impacted.
Nothing is worse than having a government program you can't fund. The SCHIP expansion bill does not tax Big Tobacco. It taxes the individual smoker. We deserve credit for our contribution.
But SCHIP needs two million new smokers to fund this program because there just aren't enough of us now to do it. So give us some help. Light up!
Smoke! It's for the children!
