This is why your views freeze at 300. Up to 300 views your view count updates in real time. However, what is happening is a view filter kicks in at or around 300. From that point on the view count will only update every 6 hours. This is why large channels can upload videos that have 300 views but thousands of ratings and comments.
The view filter will not count views from people who just clicked on your video and then clicked out. A view must consume your video in order to be counted. It will also replace consumed views with nonconsumed views in the original 300 views before any new views will be counted. Thus for small channels it will be months for your video to get over 300.
How can you fix this? First post your newer videos as responses to older videos. Organize them into playlists to encourage people to watch the older stuff. Add annotations to older videos.
