  • thanks i thought about geting it for my birthday mabey il re think it good review

  • @Anthonyjrspears Glad my review was helpful. Thanks for the comment.

  • Considering what this is and when it was made. And the budget it was made for, didn't deserve the crap review.

  • @bobmat343 That's not much of a defense, though. Playmates made a lot of models back in the 90's with similar budgets I'd imagine. And most of them were really good. They just didn't seem to put as much effort into this model as they did other models, like the various enterprise models from the 90s.

  • I have this set. It was sitting on my tv but it fell behind it 2 months ago and I havent bothered retrieving it lol. I actually like this set. The lighting is crap, but imho it makes a better display piece than the other playmate produced models. i also have the runabout model, which is very cool. Btw, the micro machine ships do in fact fit in the peg. i had used fishing line to attach a couple of more ships so that it would appear as if they're hovering around.

  • @TheJaguarKnight Bad times. I hope your model wasn't damaged in the fall. It does make a great display piece, despite it having a few glaring flaws in the detail (aside from lacking of lighting).

With diamond select having released newer versions of the enterprise models over the past few years, I would love to have them make a new version of both DS9 and voyager. I read an interview from a while back that said those models weren't very popular, so don't think it will happen though.

  • @charmlighter Funny you mention that. Before I bought this model, I knew the enterprise attached and I also wondered if micro machines would fit it. I used to have a ton of star trek micro machines but don't anymore so I'm not sure if they would fit on the peg.

I too have the new Ent D and it is amazing. More even lighting in the nacelles would have been nicer but that's just me nitpicking lol Was going to get the future Ent D but think I might have a pro modeler use a kit and make me one.

  • @TheComingofDarkness yeah that would be cool i have the art asylum enterprise d and nxo1 both very cool ships .. and the attention to detail is breathe taking , what wouldba been really cool is if the star trek micro machine ships fitted this ds9 model .. woulda been way cool

  • @charmlighter Same here. This was a model I really wanted back in the late 90's. I used to have a ton of playmates models but always wanted this one. Maybe my expectations were just too high? lol

It would be awesome if art asylum/diamond select made a new DS9 or voyager model since they've remade the enterprises, but I doubt that will ever happen.

The enterprise is detachable from the ds9 model, but can only be attached to that one pylon.
