.5mm mechanical pencil will do most anything. If you can control it. Custom pencils are great but hardly necessary.

i need to get actual artistic pencils.. i always use number 2 pencils that i use for school... :P

thanks for sharing but how is this any different from hatching? except that you dont lift off the pencil, which you should :D

For me, lifting the pencil takes extra time and sometimes causes me to lose my place. I use traditional hatching as well, but this technique is just as useful to me.
