Melinda Abodeely's Senior Recital November 14th, 2009 - Melinda Abodeely, Soprano - Si mes vers avaient des ailes This song was written by Hahn at the Paris Conservatoire and was one of the works which made him famous early in his life. He dedicated the song to his sister when she married. The piano accompanies the soprano in this piece with gorgeous ascending and cascading broken chords. The soprano sings a flowing melody over the accompaniment. The piece concludes with a gentle ritard and a soft fermata (holding of a note) by the soprano echoed by the accompaniment.

  • This is one of my FAVORITE pieces that I've studied with Dianne. Don't you just love singing in French?

    Love, Kate :-)
