This was the number one song the week I was born: Feb 14, 1956. I love it. Posting to Facebook. Had a suggestion from a friend to find and post the number one song from the week we were born. It's a great idea.

This hit by Kay Starr and The Hugo Winterhalter Orchestra was the 11th #1 song in the United Kingdom after the start of the Rock Era.

When I was a kid in the 60's my dad brought home an old wind up gramophone player and this 78 record. It had a bit of a chip in the edge but we still played it right there in the back yard, my sister and I over and over and over.......

Fabulous memories, this was my grand parents favourite song and mine (born 1956). I used to ask for it to be played all the time and remember dancing and singing to it on a Sunday as a small child. I now have my own Decca crank wind '78 player and I still listen to this song. No wonder it sold 1 million!!!! Wonderful stuff..

Thanx again, Liz! It's been sooooo long since i heard this. Now, if i could only pair up your 78 with John1948's video, we would really have something!

love this, heard it as a kid and have recently reheard it at dance lessons!! This is the version we are dancing to, thanks for this
