Here is Mark Lanegan performing an Alex Harvey cover. Alex Harvey was most famous for his band (The Sensational Alex Harvey Band) reinterpretation of Jacques Brel, "Next". Mark Lanegan took a detour from his Australian tour to play for the special 50th birthday celebrations for Andrew McGee, one of the founders of Shock Records. The place was hosted by Quincy McLean and Helen Marcou at the famous Bakehouse Studios in Richmond. The people were the who's who of the Melbourne Music Scene, everybody from Mick Harvey, Myf Warhurst , Brian Hooper, Mick Turner, Julian Wu, Bruce Milne, Paul Elliott , Quincy McLean, Linda J Dacio, Bean and Gus of The Dacios, Penny Ikinger, Emily Ulman, Rui Pereira , James Young and lots more. The oriental theme was ENTER THE DRAGON with everybody dressed up as geishas, ninjas, grand masters, kill bill, etc. With 21 courses of food and amazing array of live music! Kicking off with Kim Salmon's Precious Jules. Following on was Joel Silbersher & The Baggage Handlers. Headlining was international act, Mark Lanegan with David Rosser on guitar. To close off the splendid event, we had The Silver City Highway, while everybody danced the night away. :)

  • I love this man & everything that he sings goes straight to my soul. This is a beautiful song.

  • @JDVANCLEEF Listened to Alex, he can't hold Mark's cigarette !!!

  • @JDVANCLEEF You are an arsehooooole my friend. Good luck to you in the future.

  • The Music is fine, but the voice needs alot of work or someone else to sing it, I'm sorry, but I'm being honest, the Roman Wall Blues is a very serious anthem among us Scotts, Alex would have been flattered I'm sure that it was imitated, but sometimes imitation is not a well form of flattery if it is not well conducted or performed in a well manner, good luck to you in the future.
