The баян (bayan) is a Russian transformation of the German akkordeon. Look up both in wikipedia.

That's no lie! It is as if all the mental hospitals suddenly got internet access. Nevertheless, Mr. Medianik plays the bayan like nobody else and he gets my five stars.
