  • That's my beautiful poodle Nica being groomed and I am amazed at how cooperative she is! I'm doubly amazed that you continue to be one of her all-time favorite people and loves to visit you even tho she KNOWS what she's going to have to deal with! Thanks for sharing....

  • yay - Nica's a star! Thanks for letting her be in our shoot.

  • what was on the cotton ball when u put it in his ear?

  • Wasn't me (I'm the camerawoman) but it was an ear cleaner with a drying agent. Cotton ball does not have to be soaking wet with the solution.

  • dogs that are good for grooming are usually the ones that are started really young. like around 8 or 10 weeks of age.

  • Yes, but any dog can be conditioned to love grooming - it ain't rocket science. Teaching a dog to look forward to grooming is certainly important and the earlier that starts, the better - but it can be done at any age.

Hiring a groomer who rewards your dog for good behavior is a good first step, too.

  • Oh--by the way, Standard Poodles are notorious for their patience, calmness, and often even stock-stillness during grooming. Start them young, and they'll actually like it.

    Great video.

  • are black poodles usually more curly than the cream and white ones?

  • Which clipper brand are you using? Do you have any tips for an Irish Setter? I need a clipper/attachment for the head/ears/neck.. you do a great job. Would you come and trim my dogs? LOL..

  • hey be careful with his balls!

  • I have a poodle that looks a lot like that one right there. The problem is that she won't let me groom her. She hates the clipper and I can never trim her correctly- or trim her how I want it lol- and she too ticklish so I cant trim the hair on her paws either.... :(

  • omg omg omg....she looks exactly like my poodle.....i love her soooooo much :)

  • For some reason I could only hear music not what was being said? But my vet told me to do the glands same way you did..not internal anything so disagree with person that said it should be done internally..leave internal to the vets

  • Loved watching the video....however..never express anal glands externally (per my Veterinarian & learning the hard way) it causes scarring of the opening (of the glands) which can cause them to scar closed ! They should only be expressed internally ...not fun but correct way to do this procedure....Just thought I'd share .....I'm currently owned by 6 Standards of which all but one were rescues....
