Driving with the doors open will cause the roof box to separate from the underbody. Just because you don't notice it now doesn't mean you won't be paying big time to have it fixed later. Just something to keep in mind if you like driving with the doors open.

I've drive at 45mph with no issues whatsoever. This is one of those "old wise tales" to not drive with the doors open - at least so far.

@LordSib I've heard of people going as fast as 100mph with the doors open, just to try it. Keeping the doors open for normal driving is not ever done since the mirrors are attached to the doors and the doors would try to open and close when going around corners.
