This has probably already been posted on YouTube (in fact I'm pretty sure it has been - if it hasn't, WHY NOT?!?!) but I rediscovered how much I loved this song after watching The Old Grey Whistle Test last night and wanted to post it. It's the version from 'Songs In The Attic'.

I don't own any rights to anything in this video or anything related to it unfortunately... :(

  • I was digging this song at the age of 10 in 1976. Age wasn't kind to Billy as his albums got worse and worse after "Glass Houses." Last time I saw him was New Years' Eve '90. I thought he'd have more staying power than Bruce.

  • @EnlightenedRogue I agree: up to Turnstiles he was still learning, then you had the brilliance of Stranger to Glass Houses. Then... Well... I still like them but they weren't as good. To be honest I think Bruce slipped a bit after Darkness - I guess I just preferred their songs when they were essentially poetry to music, back when the lyrics were the most important part.

  • Only about 5 years and 28 days left

  • @TheSonny99 Wow, 2017 must have seemed so far away back in '76... Actually 2017 seems pretty far away at the moment... I'll be 23... That seems scarier than the apocalyptic lyrics right now XD

  • Thats why Songs in the Attic is a great album.

  • This live version in New York City is much better than the recorded version. Love when the crowd cheers for the Yankees when he sings "...the yankees up for free..". Great post, thanks.

  • This whole album is awesome.

From the songs selected to the passion of the live performances.

  • @tonmereestgross

    I'm 13 and I dig it

  • Oooohh i love this song!!!

  • @junkie4vids It is such the song, like one of Johnny Cash's live version of "Boy named Sue". The crowd just gets so much into it, just makes the song with raw emotion, it actually lifts the song into the next level.

  • I do a cover of this song of my channel. Come check it out!
