A video examining the unique history and culture of one of America's least known ethnic groups, the Spanish-speaking "Islenos" who live in the bayous east of New Orleans and are celebrated for their tradition of decimas -- long, descriptive ballads about events in their lives or notorious local characters. This film is very interesting. I would like to have a copy for my genealogy and for my children. Their father's ancestors came from the Canary Islands. Also, I would like to have the names of the people in the film. I know I recognize many of the people from living in Yscloskey for many years, but I can't remember all their names.
