Indeed, Columbus was an obsessive explorer and a religious fanatic, crippled by the disease at this later point in his life - not many people like being around him.

Even though he is supposed to be one of the great men of history I now can easily believe that he was cruel enough to kill thousands of people.

The actor rightly plays him as a deranged madman. An eyeopening film!
