I misinterpreted the title greatly. It would really hurt if a squirrel ate your nuts with his shoulder in Madison Square Park...

You do know that the plague is cured by antibiotics...in any case, what is so wrong in handing wild animal who want food....I have five Squirrels living in my garden...they have yet to harm me....Oh rabies is not in my country(Britain) You sound a bit like the "health and safety officer. You must not do this and that....

@AnimalBehaviorist1 Most stuff you can get from animels is curable now. So I wouldn't be worried, and other than parasites like ticks, most birds are fairly clean, unless they are birds of pray, bloody hawks with there bloody tallons. :( As long as he dosn't stick anything in his mouth he should be fine. :P Though Rabies would in fact kill him, generaly you can tell before they get to close. :p
To any and all people who are watching this video. THIS IS A BAD IDEA. Squirrels carry many diseases that are transmitted to people the most common of which is bubonic plague. Trying to get ANY wild animal to approach you is always a bad idea for both you and the animal. This man probably did not know any better, but be warned such behavior can get you rabies or at the very least a bite that will become so infected it will send you to the ER for intravenous antibiotics.

@AnimalBehaviorist1 This guy is actually right. It was not a good idea for me to do this, though I was lucky enough not to get sick or get bit. Anyway, squirrels and birds won't be so forthcoming most places besides Madison Square Park, so it's probably not worth trying.
