@Steve22976 As I said below, only once the bow is starting to dig, maybe a bit more if your in a lot of swell, the problem with being to far back is that you drag the transom and lift the bow, this takes away the efficiency of the middle sections of the hull which you need to create lift. You can see this the whole time with guys just starting out, the bow is in the air and there's wash everywhere and the good boats are going straight past em.

weight only comes back once the bow starts to dig, obviously its further back than upwind but not a whole heap. I'd always let the outhaul of regardless of wind, a little at least, you can always take it on, plus the faster you go the less pressure your goin to have on the sail. makes gybing a shitload easier

weight back depending on how much wind and true wind angle. also if racing in heavy wind keep outhaul the same as upwind just release cunningham and vang a bit till boom is level.
