AHH!! THANK MEKTEK LIFE CAN NOW BE EASIER!!
Man how I missed the free reticule in Mech3

Get behind a obstacle, like a hill or a building. Use your jump gets to rise just a little above the obstacle and fire on your target. Then you descend behind the obstacle to break line of sight.
Nice that the free floating reticle is back. I loved MW3 for its free-floating reticle, acquire missile lock from behind on obstacle and use your LRMs as indirect fire weapons by throwing the reticle up to the top of the screen and firing.

you obviously havn't played the older games. btw, it's less realistic that you can't train your guns seperately to your torso, the fact that their fixed and have no real range of motion borders on the absurd, even a tank can pivot it's turret, and you're telling us that an advanced hundred ton war machine can't move it's own arm independantly of it's torso? rediculous.

in the older games you could do either or, but the free floating reticule is extremely useful for targeting without actually always moving your torso, especially for targeting specific parts of an enemy mech, not to mention acuracy, makes you a little less vulnerable too not always having to move your whole upper body, sometimes exposing your more vulnerable parts when you could just train your guns to your target. They don't force it on you though, so no worries.

i actually perfered the fixed aimer. Will you beable to turn off the free aimer?

The new Long Tom artillery range finder is also going to make jump sniping a dangerous profession. You will be able to range them, then elevate guns to max, then lower elevation, fire again and have all shot hit target at same time.

natakuu never played mechwarrior 3, apparently.

Lol, y online do all the servers have No Heat, Unlimited ammo? or any of the ones I can see do......people to lazy to have to manage thier heat? I went on one of those servers got mowed down in like 2 seconds by some jumping clowns and thier like 15 Capacitor PPCs hahaha...was a joke on some untold lvl

In case you didn't know, the 'Mechs' arms can move independently from its torso. That's why there are two binds for looking left/right which bring that gun arm in that direction.
Granted, they need to do something about the TORSO weapons turning in that direction...
Oh man, I missed using the Free reticule when I upgraded to Mechwarrior 4! It took me a while to get used to having the whole torso follow your mouse.

What's wrong? Too shaky for a mouse, stravag?
Ha it's all about the free aim, dood.. back in the days of Mechwarrior 3 i'd use my keyboard for movement and my mouse for free aim, and i'd put little trolls like you back in your place from 300 meters away with my ER PPCs..
It's vital that they put the damn free aim back in MW, so those who can snipe can and those who can't.. well, stick to their primitive control board.. bwahahaha..
