Gameplay from Soul Star on Sega Mega CD retro games console. Retro gaming.

This is not a review, walkthrough, playthrough, or demonstration of my playing ability.
It's simply a quick demonstration of the game so that anyone not familiar with these old games can see what it looks like.

Any opinions or comments I make regarding these games should largely be taken with a pinch of salt.
They are usually based on my first impressions after a very brief play.

  • looks like your video is paying off, because i havent seen it before, by the way, how do you get perfect picture when you record gameplay?

  • I think I'm just lucky that my camera seems to like my TV. LCD TVs seem to be much easier to record than CTRs, with none of that annoying banding or flickering. So, I just have to get the focus right... just off absolutely crystal clear, to avoid getting that annoying mesh pattern from all the pixels.

  • It's not 3D in the same way as a playstation, saturn, etc.

It doesn't use polygons, but uses sprite scaling and a similar effect to mode 7 on the snes, to produce a sense of depth in the game.

  • I remember this game vividly, The graphics was ahead of it's time but the biggest lasting impression this game had on me was it's phenominal orchestrated music score!!! super epic! I put this game whole score on my ipod touch and listen to it constanly while riding or coming home from work.

  • Great sprites and FX work.

  • That does look like a very good game indeed, as does thunderhawk. thanks for the recommendations

  • SoulStar's sprite scaling is more similar to Sega's SuperScaler arcade scaling than Nintendo's Mode 7 SNES scaling.

  • it doesnt look fully 3d to me, was it meant to be?
