That maid seems like such a crafty little bitch!

@tomservo56954 It was probably only available by prescription. I was born in 1963, and all we had for fever and pain relief was Bayer Children's Aspirin. When my niece was born in 1984, they had both Infants Tylenol and Children's Tylenol.

This episode of THE SECRET STORM came to you through the courtesy of American Home Products, and its divisions Boyle-Midway (Wizard, Aerowax), and Whitehall Laboratories (Anacin, Heet, and everything else in that medicine cabinet not a doctor's prescription).

@Sheri451 Acetaminophen was available in the U.S. at this time...the same year as this show, the first Tylenol product was marketed--Children's Elixir. I don't know if and other products were by prescription or over the counter then. It wasn't until the 1970's that I heard of it, through advertising. Anacin did have another ingredient in it, which was removed as it could possibly cause kidney damage.

@jalowe1957 And I was impressed that Gloria Monty was working on the show in the 1960's, I didn't know she went that far back.
GREG MAY of Orlando, FL says: "The Secret Storm" was always identified with the waves crashing against the rocky shoreline. But sometime in the late 60's or early 70's my mother said, 'They have new music!'. The theme song was still the same but they were playing it with bells (speaking of Belle!) and the waves crashing on the rocky shoreline was replaced with storm clouds."

@publicitypunk i'm not sure when Charles Paul changed Secret Storm's theme; even after the stills went away and the crashing waves came into play, the theme remained the same. i started watching in the summer of 1969: i distinctly remember the first four notes of the theme being chimes - leading into the solo organ..when Eddie Layton took over (in 1969), the same four lead-in notes were played; ditto with Carey Gold starting in 1972 - but no chimes from that point forward...

Does anyone remember 'Belle' on "The Secret Storm?" She was one of the first daytime 'bitches' - right up there with EILEEN FULTON ('Lisa' on ATWT). Belle always hated Amy (JADA ROWLAND) and was always stealing her boyfriends and her husbands. The reason for the hatred was because Belle's little boy drowned while Amy was babysitting and she never forgave her."

@publicitypunk when i first started watching SS, in 1969, Belle (played by Marla Adams) was married to Paul Britton (Nicholas Coster)..they divorced, with Paul marrying Amy (Jada Rowland) - the woman Belle held responsible for the drowning death of her daughter Robin..later, Belle married Dan Kincaid (Bernard Barrow), who had ties to the mob..during this time, she had an affair with her ward's boyfriend..unfortunately, in the fall of 1973, my affiliate dropped Secret Storm....

Our local CBS station did not carry The Brighter Day or The Secret Storm but when we went north for the summer during school vacation, from June - August 1955 - '57, I could see them. When CBS expanded Love of Life to 30 minutes, our local station dropped it and starting 1958 showed via kinescope The Secret Storm on a 1-week delay. Haila Stoddard was absolutely tops in my book. LOL

@piqueroi i was watching soaps for about four years before this practice of affiliates dropping soaps and not moving them to a different time period..in 1973, my affiliate dropped Secret Storm (another near-by affiliate dropped it 6m earlier)..then, when moved to a late afternoon time period, my affiliate didn't follow..as a result i READ about their network cancellations (have no idea how either wrapped up...UGH..
