Solo-sailor Jessica Watson talks to Panasonic MD Steve Rust

16 year old Jessica Watson is setting out to set a new world record for the youngest ever person to sail solo, non-stop around the world. Panasonic Australia MD Steve Rust hops on board to interview Jessica about the amazing challenge she's set herself and talks about which Panasonic equipment she'll be using to help her along the way.

I am unsure of who is moderating her comments, and l'm also unsure of the wisdom of her journey given her experience prior to departure.

However, as a 16 yo having committed to this venture, she is entitled to be protected from the revolting, voyeuristic and irrelevent ramblings that pass as 'comments' on these pages.

Aye, given that her mum was on several radio stations in the months leading up to her solo event and saying she (and others of her family and team) would be moderating them.

I think it's also true, what you said about lowering her spirits. No one needs that when their in the middle of the Tassie Sea with no one around for thousands of kilometers

I think you are right, regarding the moderated comments, gribae...

it is a pity to miss the spectacle of un-moderated youtube's videos comments, but certain mean remarks could lower her spirits, being alone out there and probably this is something she doesn't need in her endeavour.
