I wrote this poem for my children.
Growing Up
As I held you in my arms,
For the very first time,
My heart sang with joy,
Just knowing you were mine.
A lifetime ago it seems,
I watched as you walked away,
On that first day of school,
When you went off to play.
Yet it seems just yesterday,
That you were so small,
Now you're ready to graduate,
You've grown up so tall.
I love you with all of my heart,
And hope you follow your dreams.
If you set your mind to it,
I know you can do anything.
