  • is that a hard wood floor? I guess that one way to encourage your students to know their breakfalls well :P

  • thats a really good combination! Why i never thought of simply combining the leg kick and the kick catch at the same time ill necer know. Fuck up the kick and youve still caught his leg, miss the catch and youve still taken his balance.

  • lol, its made to look like wood but if u see the other videos, the light is reflected differently where there is weight.

in other words, its padded mats lol

  • Behind the knee doesn't hurt it just makes you fold your leg, taking your balance. Side or front of the knee will hurt. If he's already got one leg and is kicking the back of the support leg, and the guy still isn't falling, he obviously isn't kicking hard.

  • i saw the guy hit the student in the back of the knee. it hurts there, even with weak strikes!!

He is not hitting the student hard, he is hitting him with enough force to allow for a little conditioning and that is all. The kicks look a little harder than they truly are simply because the students balance is not all that good yet and he is moving off balance from light contact.

In terms of the technique this is a nice simple counter to a mid section turning kick if the opportunity to catch the kick presents itself.

  • nice we use this in muay thai

    deep bow

  • thanks!
