My belgian has EPSM. He lifts his right hind very high...but relaxes to semi normal. His diet is very important to his well being. Lots of fat (soybean oil- 4 cups a day) and dmg 3000 keep him well lubricated and ready for the day. EPSM is easily managed with the correct diet and willingness to work with the horse. Exercise is crucial. I would reccomend 20-30 mins trotting a day. riding/driving/lunging. Good luck!

I see your video remik and responded to your mail, yes this is sad to see, my percheron mare did have symptoms like this, a few times her whole body shivered, sometimes she spiked up one of her hind legs and held it up there, or hopped on that leg while trotting. She also had fasciculations on her face chronically. She also had occasional recumbency episodes. To vets her symptoms looked no different than EPSM but really she had EMND with no hint of EPSM in her muscle biopsy at all.
Sure.
If you look under my other videos, there is one I took recently and submitted to Dr. Valberg for her EPSM shivers study. There is also a video of my Shire jumping to show that strangely enough, this sad disease does not usually affect his forward movement. Let me know if you have any questions. I have done a lot of research on this frustrating disease. Good luck.
