  • I never realized just how big those planes really are until I saw one at on the static line at the Tico Warbird Airshow in Titusville, FL. How many people were on the plane when it was flying during WW2? It looks like it could be up to three or four.

  • @woodencoasterfan

i dont know it exactly but i think the crew was Pilot, Reargunner and one in the middle who drop the Bomb.

japanese had a Plane with the same crew in their carrierbased Bombers.

  • 3:17 look how small that plane is compared to the avenger!

  • @kubanskiloewe the b5n "kate" is the one you're talking about. 3 man torpedo bomber.

  • Wartime TBM/TBFs were often equipped with a powered dorsal gun turret fitted with a single .50 machine gun. From memory TBMs were built by Grumman while TBFs were built under licence by Curtis. A rugged kite loved by all that flew it, the Avenger is one of the great Warbirds.

  • 1:00 shes bitin harold!
