So Far Away Ep 14

After class I found Nat sitting by himself in the cafeteria. I sat down across from him. Sean was sitting with a group of guys goofing around.

Allie: Thank you.
Nat: For what?
Allie: For defending me from Sean.
Nat: It was nothing. He was being rude to you. I wasnt going to let him get away with it.
Allie: Maybe youre not a jerk after all.
I smiled and he smiled back. Maybe he really is a great guy after all. Hes done so much for me for no reason at all.
Nat: Good to know.
Allie: I mean it. You didnt have to defend me but you did. No one has ever done that for me before.
Nat: I felt like I had to. As long as Im around no one or nothing will ever hurt you. If any guy lays a finger on you hell have to deal with me.

I have never felt safer than I do right now. Of course I always feel safe when I am with Nat. Theres just something about him. I cant seem to figure it out.

Allie: You probably say that to every girl.
Nat: No. Just you and no one else.
And for some reason I believed him. Though every inch of me screamed not to.
Nat: I have never felt more protective of anyone than I do of you.
Allie: WowumWhere is Alexa?
Nat: I dont know. Who cares.
Allie: Well shouldnt you? She is your girlfriend.
Nat: Yeah but we also let each other have our own space.
Allie: Ill see you after school then.
Nat: Yeah.

I went to my locker. The bell rang and I jumped a little.
??: Did the bell scare you?
When I heard the voice I got even more scared. I turned around.
Allie: Go away.
Sean: First admit that you liked me and that we were dating. You cant deny it when all the signs showed that we were.
Allie: Im not going to admit something that isnt true. I have never liked you. We were only close friends. I never saw as anything else. So just let it go.

I tried to walk away but Sean slammed his arm against the lockers blocking me. I was scared. Sean was unpredictable. He could do anything. Nat rushed over and suddenly I didnt feel scared anymore. He stood in front of me.

Nat: Did you not get the message the first time?
Sean: Are you asking for me to punch you in the face?
Nat: Im not going to fight you. Thats not the kind of guy I am.

I slowly backed away facing them. I didnt know what would happen next. Sean tried to follow me. Nat quickly stood in front of him and stopped Sean. Sean swung his fist at Nat. Nat quickly duck and punched Sean in the face. Sean fell screaming in pain. I ran to Nat and flung myself in to his arms.

Allie: I thought that you didnt want to fight him?
Nat: But I never said that I wouldnt. And see I told you no guy would ever harm you as long as Im here.
Allie: Now I know that you were telling the truth.
Nat: I would never lie to you.
Allie: But what about before when you said you loved me. Werent you just using me to get over Alexa?
Nat: I
Alexa: What do you think youre doing hugging my boyfriend?

I quickly moved out of Nats arms. Alexa looked angry. She had every right to be. I dont know what I was thinking hugging her boyfriend.

Allie: Sorry.
Alexa: If you go anywhere near him again I will make your life so miserable youll wish you never moved to New York.
Allie: I should go.
Nat: You dont have to. And Alexa if you do anything to her Ill break up with you.
Alexa: What?
Nat: You heard me.
I walked away leaving them arguing.
