Red is The Rose - Gary Dunne

A rough and raw recording of a Scottish song I learned from the recording of Irish ballad singer Liam Clancy and later sean-nós singer Joe Heaney.

Although Tommy Makem put a copyright on his version (learned from his mother), it's a much older song, based on the Scottish melody 'Loch Lomond'.

Wow! What a great version! I really like your voice with it. Gives depth to the lyrics. Very different from the "more traditional" versions, where lyrics are often just sung, without much interpretation.
