Ashley Introduces herself and her myriad of issues with losing weight. She wonders if looking at pictures of thin, fit people is okay, or if that delves too deep into the creepy, creepy world of Thinspiration.

Weight: 163
Goal: 140

If you're like "who the heck is Ashley?" You may have seen her in other online distractions such as "Deathly Hallows Spinning Book" and "Harry a History Spinning Book" and "Tales of Beetle the Bard Spinning Book" - She loves to spin books... especially for The Leaky Cauldron.

  • I like to look at pictures of slender fit women for inspiration, the bony pictures on the thinspiration vids are gross though. I love ballet dancers, having said that, quite a lot of ballet dancers are anorexic so you never know! I suppose we know ourselves when we have taken things too far though, cos we feel really unwell and light headed. Keep that positive attitude! All the best! :)

  • It's funny how those Thinspiration pics made me want to eat ice cream :)

  • This is great! Very inspirational and brave. The seasonal depression monster has made my diet go to the sheister, so I definitely feel for you. Lemme know if you want a workout buddy! -Christine

  • Being skinny doesnt mean you are healthy. Being healthy and happy is a balance between weight and activity. As your activity slows you will gain weight and its at this time most problem happen. So be aware of what you are eating and try to be a lot more active, and your weight will drop. You will be a lot happier in the end.

  • also, do you know where one might find these hershey kisses with cheesecake in the middle??

and i think pictures of YOURSELF are awesome inspiration... i dunno about those skeletons with skin on top, though...

  • ok. I officially love you.

  • Ashley, you are an absolute hoot.

I have the same issues as you (and incidentally, the same starting weight and goal weight, within a pound, although you seem taller than I am...). I've had two gym memberships that were for a YEAR, where I didn't even set foot in the gym more than once, in one case, and at all in the other case. So, good for you for going!

Also, I think looking at pix of yourself when you were at your goal weight is a great idea! Inspiration! That'll do it!

  • Think of those people who put pictures of really fat women in lingerie on their refrigerators. I think that's fat-spiration...like, "eat crap and look like this..."

I'm kinda of the "whatever works for you" mentality. If looking at people who have already achieved good health and fitness is a way for you to make healthy!Ashley appear in your head, then go for it. And, if that doesn't work...you could always photoshop your head on a really large body as a reminder of what overeating does. :)

  • Um NO QUITTING. You can't quit. Period. And looking at pictures is okay. I won't tell anyone that you like the ones that are NSFW.

Oh, and I love your face.

  • HAHAHAHAHA I could not stop laughing. I freaking love you!
