people are going to judge you no matter what, pretending that we are something we're not, or not admitting what we are just to attempt to keep the deluded masses 'happy' is a cop-out. this is still america & we are slowly but surely stepping out of the dark ages, yet some will always have to draged kicking & screaming. i am certain there was much frustration with the flat earthers too.

The problem here is that a "Party" must have a cohesive vision for every aspect of public policy.
So, fine, toughen up the boundary between Church and State - remove "God" from the pledge of allegiance as well as all the bank notes.
But then there's the economy and foreign policy and healthcare and gun control and capital punishment and taxes etc. etc. etc. There are atheists at the extremes of all of those - it would be hard to say "We atheists don't believe in capital punishment"; many do.
Atheists fall on all points of the political spectrum, from left - center - to right and the same goes for authoritative governance - personal liberty - to total anarchy.
Herding cats is a fools enterprise.
Short term sensation. Can't see N.A.P. having any meaningful legs, long term.
I want no part of a 'party' of any kind. I am an atheist for no other reason than I do not believe in supernatural nonsense. Nothing else applies to me. This is precisely what fundies latch onto when they spin the fallacious associations between us and the nazi party. No thanks.

The trouble with National XXXX Party is that the XXXX is bound to be associated with "socialist" - and that spells NAZI.
I would prefer ARSE - Atheists for Reason Secularism and Education

I want to see an candidate or several first. I am very intrigued though.
Do you think the party could get some major money backing from one of the billionaire atheists out there like Bill Gates or Zuckerberg?

I think there are more Atheists then what the polls show. The number of Atheists will grow and the internet will play a part in that.

Rename them the progressive secular humanist party and then I'm on board.
